At the time of his death he was 66 years of age. A son of the late George T. and Martha Lane Morris of this county, he was a member of the Sebrell Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Babb Morris; eight daughters, Mrs. H.S. Grizzard of Drewryville, Mrs. Sue Epperson of Kenbridge, Mrs. Waverly Turner of Suffolk, Mrs. A.S. Spivey of Norfolk, and Misses Edith, Emily, Catherine and Geraldine Morris all of Sebrell; six sons, Benjamin F. Jr., and Byrd Morris of Suffolk, and Mack, Joseph, Bennie and William J. Morris, all of Sebrell; eighteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one brother, Lee Morris, of Norfolk. Funeral services were held at the grave in the Courtland cemetery on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. E.R. Collie, pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church, officiating. The pallbearers were A.E. Briggs, Willie Whitehead, A.V. Denson, S.V. Camp, Jr., J.P. Simmons, and R.R. Reese.
