EDWARD LEWIS MARKS, JR.

Edward L. (Bill) Marks, Jr., 76, of 213 Rochelle St. died Tuesday in 
Southampton Memorial Hospital.  He was a native of  Southampton Co. 
and the husband of Jessie Davis Marks.  He was retired from the State 
Highway Dept., and was a member of Vincent's Grove United Methodist 
Church.  Other survivors include two daughters, Shirley M. McBroom of 
Fredricksburg, Patsy M. Cox of Franklin; two sons, Edward L. Marks III 
of Franklin and James Franklin Marks of Courtland; two sisters, Bessie 
M. Culpepper of Suffolk and Annie M. White of Newport News; thirteen 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  A graveside funeral service 
will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Luther 
Marks.  The family suggests that memorials be made to the Vincent's Grove 
Methodist Church, Courtland or Capron Rescue Squad. Wrights Funeral Home, 
Franklin, has charge of arrangements.
