MYRICK, STATESVILLE CITIZEN, DIES W.E. Myrick, a farmer and leading citizen of the Statesville community, died at his home last Saturday night. Mr. Myrick, who was 67, had been in failing health for more than two years. He was the son of the late William E. Myrick of Statesville and Mrs. Charlotte P. Myrick of Hertford County, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Katherine Myrick; three daughters, Mrs. G.B. Brett of Como and Misses Bernice and Lucille Myrick of Statesville; two sons, L.S. Myrick of Newsoms and B.E. Myrick of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, S.J. Myrick of Boykins and H.H. Myrick of Portsmouth; a sister, Mrs. H.A. Moore of Boykins and a half-sister, Mrs. H.S. Barrett of Newsoms. Mr. Myrick was an outstanding member of Barnes M.E. Church and was chairman of its Board of Stewards and Secretary-Treasurer of the church. Services were conducted from the home at three o’clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. E.B. Loving, his pastor, assisted by the Rev. C.P. Cleveland of Newsoms Baptist Church. Interment was in the family cemetery nearby, with pallbearers being T.H. Barrett, H.A. Barrett, J.F. Drake, E.W. Evans, J.T. Ivey, L.L. Thorpe, Russell Railey and C.R. Everett.
