NEAVE Frances Raiford Neave, 78, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin. Wife of the late C. Edward Neave Jr., she was a native of Southampton County and a daughter of the late Philip M. and Otelia West Raiford. She was a member of Corinth Friends Meeting, where she served with the Corinth Ladies Aid for more than 50 years as well as historian of the church; and a former member of the Berlin Woman's Club. Mrs. Neave is survived by a son, C. Phillip Neave and wife, Pamela K. Neave, of Ivor; two daughters, Sue N. Grizzard and husband, Robert S. Grizzard of Ivor and Melissa N. Darden and husband, Parker E. Darden Jr., of Franklin; a brother, John C. Raiford of Nags Head, N.C.; two sisters, Lorraine R. Sheffield of Waverly, Va., and Mae R. Brown of Greensboro, N.C.; a stepsister, Paige W. Hurst; six grandchildren; and devoted cousin and friend, Jean R. Seeley. She was the mother of the late Kurt E. Neave. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor, with Hugh Spaulding, Hershel Hill and David Hobson officiating. Burial will be in Ivor Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence at 33293 Seacock Chapel Road, Ivor. Memorial donations may be made to Corinth Friends Meeting, Ivor VA 23866.
