All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MAMIE PARSONS NIBLETT Mrs. Mamie Parsons Niblett, 74, a native of Southampton County, died at her home in the Berlin community at 7:30 o'clock on Sunday, May 29. She is survived by two sons, A.P. and B.F. Niblett of Berlin; one step- daughter, Mrs. I.T. Hancock of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; five stepsons, R.A. and B.C. Niblett of Ivor, L.F. and John Niblett of Courtland, and Edward Niblett of Windsor; one brother, James L. Parsons of Wakefield; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert C. Bailey and Mrs. R.A. Niblett of Ivor. Funeral services for Mrs. Niblett were conducted at the Traylor and Purviance Funeral Home at Wakefield on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Thomas N. Tombes of Ivor. The choir of the Millfield Baptist Church sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." The casket was covered with a beautiful pall composed of lilies, sweetpeas and snapdragons. Interment was in the White Cemetery at Manry. "Mamie" Mary Frances (PARSONS; Mrs. Benjamin F.) NIBLETT [NEBLETT*], Southampton Co. native, d. 29 May 1949, at home, Berlin, age 74, interred in the WHITE family cemetery**, near Manry, 31 May 1949, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), June 3, 1949, p. 4 *"Niblette" in original corrected to "Niblett" throughout. The name also appears as "Neblett." **Her maternal grandparents, Edwin F. & Minerva (HINES) WHITE, are also buried there.
