She was in her 71st year, and was a native King William County, Va. the daughter of the late James and Mrs. Sarah Rainey Powell. Mr. Nicholson, who died several years ago was a useful and esteemed citizen of this town, and she is survived by a son, Edgar P. Nicholson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and two grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. David H. Eley of Franklin, Mrs. M. Campbell of Mangohick, and Mrs. J.E. Eubank of Richmond, and a brother, J.D. Powell of Mangohick, Va. Mrs. Nicholson, who had lived in Franklin since her marriage many years ago, was a consistent member of High Street Methodist Church, and of its church organizations and numbered many friends here. Funeral services were held from the residence Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. B.B. Bland, assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Baptist Church. Burial was made in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being F.F. Jenkins, Edgar Jackson, W.M. Weede, G.E. Pillow, Cecil Vaughan, 3rd, Linwood Edwards, Dr. R.L.
