ELLIS JULIAN NIXON

   CARRSVILLE - A funeral service with military honors for Ellis J. Nixon, 77, 
was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Joseph A. 
Lang.  Wright Funeral Home was in charge.

   Nixon died Wednesday in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

   A native of Engelhand, N.C., he was the husband of Odell Britt Nixon.

   He was a retired 25 year veteran of Coast Guard and worked for Lipton Tea 
Co. in Suffolk for 10 years.

   He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Laura Geraldine Snow of Carrsville; and 
two grandchildren.
