HELEN BURGESS NEWSOME

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Mrs. Helen Burgess Newsome, 64, was held 
Friday at 4 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and 
Stanley C. Burgess.  Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

   Mrs. Newsoms died Tuesday night in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton county, she was the wife of Sidney C. Newsome.

   She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

   Other survivors include two daughters, Misses Romine Newsome and Jean N. 
Newsome of Franklin; a son, Sidney C. Newsome Jr. of Windsor; three brothers, 
the Rev. Stanley C. Burgess of Richmond, Clyde W. Burgess of Florida and 
Hubert H. Burgess of Colonial Heights; and two grandchildren.
