NEWSOME FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Sidney C. Newsome, 65, was held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Waverly Horne. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Newsome died Sunday in his home. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Helen Burgess Newsome*. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and was retired from Union Camp Corporation. He was a Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Miss Romine Newsome and Miss Jean Newsome of Franklin; a son, Sidney C. Newsome of Windsor; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Wade and Mrs. Essie Williams of Norfolk, and Miss Bessie Hope Butler of Windsor; and two brothers, R. W. Newsome and J.B. Newsome Jr. of Franklin; and grandchildren. [Sidney C.
