R.E. Brittle and the Rev. Warren F. Taylor in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randolph West, James E. West Jr., James Everett, Frank Murphy, Edward H. Blythe Jr. and Parker Park Griffin. Mrs. Nelms, 56, a native of Southampton County, died Monday night in her home. She was the wife of Eugene J. Nelms and a daughter of Mrs. Allie Griffin Blythe and the late Hunter Blythe of Southampton County. She was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and bookkeeper for Kello Motor Co. Besides her husband and mother, surviving are three sons, Eugene J. Nelms of Smithfield, Herbert C. Nelms of Suffolk and Joseph C. Nelms of the Air Force, Chanute AFB, Rantoul, Ill., six brothers, Melvin L. Blythe of Smithfield, William Kelly Blythe, Edward Hunter Blythe, D.C. Blythe, Clinton Blythe and Franklin R. Blythe of Franklin; three sisters, Miss Allie Mae Blythe of Franklin, Mrs. Catherine B. Parker of Gates, N.C., and Mrs. Irene Bulls of Sedley; and six grandchildren. Ruby Keaton (BLYTHE; Mrs. J.
