Main St. died Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Vera Maie Whitehead Norfleet and a son of William H. and Mrs. Inda Britt Norfleet. Before retirement two years ago, he operated Norfleet’s grocery. He was a member of Franklin Baptist church. Besides his widow, surviving are a foster daughter, Mrs. Tillia M. Blythe, and a sister, Miss Dora Alice Norfleet, both of Franklin, a granddaughter, a nephew and a niece. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in W.J. M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** JOHN DEANS NORFLEET A funeral service for John Deans Norfleet was held in Franklin Thursday by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Magee Jr., Sam Powell, Jr., Sam Hassett, Bruce R. Rose Jr., Dempsey Blythe, Sam Drewry, J.W. Sumner, R.W. Rideout. Woodmen of the World rites were conducted at the grave. Deans, 68, of 315 South Main St., Franklin, died Tuesday afternoon in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
