All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WALTER HENRY NORFLEET WALTER NORFLEET’S BURIAL CONDUCTED Funeral services for Walter Henry Norfleet, 74, were conducted last Monday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Harvey L. Carnes. Mr. Norfleet, who had spent his entire life in Franklin, was well known in this community. He died early Sunday after being ill for many months. He was the husband of the late Ethel Murray Howell Norfleet of Franklin and the son of the late Issac Walter and Cora Cobb Norfleet of Southampton County. He was a lifelong member of the Congregational Christian Church of Franklin. Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. J. Felton Johnson and Mrs. Cora Norfleet Melgard both of Franklin and one son, Walter H. Norfleet, Jr., of Franklin; two grandchildren, Sue Parker and Ethel Ann Norfleet of Franklin; one sister Mrs. Henry E. Grizzard of Drewryville, and two brothers, Linwood B. Norfleet of Greensboro, N.C. Pallbearers were: Dr. Darden Jones, Dr. Beamon Story, Dr. William E. Snipes, J.P. King, Tony Cobb, J.E. Matthews, Lyle S. Smith and R.O. Hayes. Services were handled by W.J.M. Holland and Sons.
