All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ VELDA CONWELL NORTHROP A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Velda Conwell Northrop, 68, of 800 Magnolia Ave., Charlotte, N.C. was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by the Rev. Rudy Potter. A native of Franklin, she was the daughter of George W. and Mrs. Lulia* Brantley Conwell and the widow of William Harriss Northrop. She was a former teacher and had taught at the Alexandria Children’s Home in Charlotte for a number of years. She was a member of Holy Comfort Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances N. Williams of Asheville, Mrs. Susan N. Pelone of Fayetteville; one son William H. Northrop Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers George Warren Conwell and Hudson Conwell of Franklin; and eight grandchildren.
