JAMES FRANKLIN O’BERRY

   NEWSOMS - A funeral service for James Franklin O’berry, 61, was held 
Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Revs. Arthur W. 
Green and Kenneth Williams.  McDowell Funeral home, Boykins was in charge.

   O’berry died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Olivia Holloman 
O’berry.

   He was a store manager in Courtland for the ABC Board.

   He was a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church and a charter member of 
Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nancy O. Snellings of 
Fredericksburg; a son, James H. O’berry of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Aubry 
Austin of Four Oaks, N.C., Mrs. Dorothy Fowler of Warrenton, N.C., and Mrs. 
Julian L. Carter of Newsoms, and a stepbrother, Harold Drake, both of Newsoms; 
and two grandchildren.
