Mr. Overby is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Overby; five daughters, Mrs. Hattie Sue Fuller of Richmond, Mrs. C.C. Overby of Branchville, Mrs. Alice Cutchins and Misses Myrtle Lee and Cornelia Overby of Courtland: five sons, J.T. Overby of Richmond, Paul David Overby of Richmond, G.C. and Thomas Edward Overby of Courtland and Marvin W. Overby of Branchville; three brothers, John David Overby of Mrgarettesville, N.C., Robert Overby of Sedley and Will Overby of Branchville; one sister, Mrs. Rose Lee Britt of Seaboard, and a number of grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the grave in Riverside Cemetery at Courtland conducted by Rev. A.W. Roten. Active pallbearers were J.C. Cook, Clifton, Russell, Larry, Bew, W.D., M.W. and Eddie Overby.
