REV. CARL LEE OUSLEY 

Rev. Carl Lee Ousley, 61, pastor of the Newsoms Baptist Church, died Sunday, 
at 8 A.M. at his residence, a native of Hartsville, S.C.  He was a son of 
Henry C. and Mrs. Laura Yates Ousley; and the husband of Mrs. Mary Harper 
Ousley.  He attended Campbell College, Wake Forest College, and Duke 
University.  He received his B.D. and M.A. degree from Crozer Theological 
Seminary, Chester, Pa.  Rev. Ousley held pastorates in Clifford, Pa., Silver 
City, N.C., Tarboro, N.C., Holland, Va., and Newsoms, Va.  Besides his wife, 
he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joyce O. Rawls of Franklin; a son, Carl L. 
Ousley, Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five grandsons; Stacy Ray Ousley of 
Goldsboro, N.C., Clifford Ousley of Levittietown, Pa., Clinton Ousley of 
Gardner, N.C., Bruce Ousley of Donelson, Tenn., John Ousley of Waco, Texas; 
and a granddaughter, Miss Cynthia Anne Rawls of Franklin.  A funeral service 
will be held Tuesday, at 2:30 P.M. in the Newsoms Baptist Church by the Rev. 
Ira D. Hudgins.  Burial will be in the Newsoms Cemetery.  W.J.M. Holland and 
Sons Funeral Home, Franklin has charge.

REV. CARL LEE OUSLEY 

   NEWSOMS - Funeral services for the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley, 61, pastor of the 
Newsoms Baptist Church, were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Newsoms Baptist 
Church by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins.

   Burial was in the Newsoms Cemetery.

   A native of Hartsville, S.C., he was the son of Henry C. and Mrs. Laura 
Yates Ousley and husband of Mrs. Mary Harper Ousley.

   He attended Campbell College, Wake Forest College, and Duke University.  He 
received his D.C. and M.A. degrees from Crozer Theological Seminary, Chester, 
Pa.

   He held pastorates in Clifford, Pa., Silver City, N.C., Tarboro, N.C., 
Holland, Va. and Newsoms.

   Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Joyce O. Rawls of 
Franklin, Va., a son, Carl Lee Ousley Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five brothers,
