RUSSELL WRIGHT OWEN

   Russell Wright Owen, 84, of Sedley, died Friday, in University Park Nursing 
Home.  He was a native of Sussex County and the husband of the late, Mary 
Councill Owen.  He was a retired farmer and former owner of Owen Brothers' 
General Store.  He had been a bus driver for the Southampton County Public 
School System for thirty five years.  He was a member of Grace Memorial United 
Methodist church and the Woodmen of the World.  Survivors include a daughter, 
Miss Barbara Anne Owen of Richmond ; two step-daughters, Mrs. Frances Spencer 
and Mrs. Maxine Field, both of Lynchburg, a step-son, William Cash of Forest 
City, N.C.; a sister, Frances Bailey of Richmond.  Funeral service will be 
conducted 3 p.m. today (Sunday) in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin by the 
Reverends Wayne Rickman and Edwin Owen.  Burial will be in Poplar Spring 
Cemetery.  The family suggests that memorials be made to the Grace Memorial 
United Methodist Church, Sedley.
