Pope, after a long illness. He was the son of Mrs. Addie Stephens Pope and the late George Henry Pope of Southampton County, and held membership in the Capron Methodist Church. Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Addie S. Pope; three brothers, W.G. Pope of Newsoms, George P. Pope of Boykins, and David Pope of Capron; and a sister, Miss Jennie Belle Pope of Courtland. The body was taken to the Holland Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in Newsoms cemetery at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. Percy White of Courtland. The pallbearers were E. Beale Carter, J.Q. Worrell, E.I. Coggsdale, J.L. Coggsdale, L.L. Porter, and E.C. Felts.
