Pope, 77, of Route 1, died March 21, in a Richmond hospital. Mr. Pope, a native of Como, N.C., was a retired farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. He was the widower of Doris Harrup Pope. Survivors include two daughters, Roselyn P. Martin of Conway, N.C., and Alisa P. Starling of Boykins; a son, Emmett H. Pope of Franklin; a sister, Lillie Whitley of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Paul T. Pope of Milwaukee, N.C., and Floyd A. Pope of Lubbock, Tx.; and two grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Monday in Boykins Baptist Church by the Revs. Phillip Motley, Reginald Warren and Wallace Phillips. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. Wright Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
