The deceased was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Fannie Vick Pope of Southampton County, and a member of Clarksbury Methodist Church. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Worrell of Franklin, and Mrs. J.H. Stephenson of Capron; and three brothers, C.B. Pope of Capron, J.H. Pope of Carrsville, and W.H. Pope of Boykins. Funeral services for Miss Pope were held at the grave in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers were D.C. Blythe, Herman Butler, E.T. Pope, Hinton Pope, Marvin Pope, Elvin H. Whitley, P.A. Whitley and Everett Williams, Sr. Lila Frances POPE, of Carrsville, Southampton Co. native, d. 5 Aug 1952, Williamsburg, age ca. 64*, interred in Beechwood Cemetery (Annex 1, Section I, Plot 12; unmarked*), Boykins, 7 Aug 1952, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Aug. 15, 1952, p. 8 *The cemetery list gives b. 9 Feb 1887; if so, d. age 65.
