Lula Pope, 810 Redgate Avenue, Norfolk, at 11 p.m. Friday, were held at the family burial ground at Newsoms at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Frank B. Handley of the Boykins Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Jethro Majette, R.A. Majette, James R. Hart, Thomas H. Barrett, S.J. Myrick, J.T. Story, R.B. Story, and C.S. Newton. Mr. Pope was the son of the late Harrison P., and Mrs. Sally Ann Majette Pope of Newsoms, and had made his home in Norfolk for the past thirty years. Besides his sister, Miss Pope, Mr. Pope is survived by several nieces and nephews.
