Pope of the Capron community died at her home Wednesday night in her 54th year. Mrs. Pope, who had been in failing health for some time, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bryant of Newsoms. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Richard Banty of Boykins, Mrs. J.T. Griffin and Miss Willie Pope of Capron and Miss Bessie Pope of Courtland; five sons, P.A., B.H., W.R. and Joe Pope of Capron and T.E. Pope of Petersburg; three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Baugham of Capron, Mrs. P.E. Knight of Courtland and Mrs. Eunice Bryant of Boykins, and two brothers, Herbert Bryant of Carrsville and Howard Bryant of Courtland. The funeral was held at the graveside on Bryant’s farm on the Courtland- Newsoms highway with Rev. R.H. Marks, pastor of Whiteheads M.E. Church of which Mrs. Pope had been a member for a number of years, officiating. The pallbearers were: Robert Baugham, Olle Baugham, Felton Bryant, Richard Banty, J.T. Griffin and George Lamb.
