JOHN JAMES PACE 

   A graveside funeral service for John James Pace was conducted at 3 p.m. 
Saturday, July 25 in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley of 
High Street United Methodist Church.  W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was 
in charge.

   Pallbearers were Thomas L. Perry, William E. Lankford, James E. Henry, Dr. 
Darden W. Jones, J. Floyd Briggs, Dr. Carl Hellberg, R.C. Councill Jr., and 
R.B. Hill, Jr.

   Pace, 76, died Thursday afternoon in Norfolk General Hospital after a long 
illness.

   A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Sarah Pickard Pace and a 
son of Willie Thomas and Mrs. Meta Parker Pace.

   He was a member of High Street Methodist Church, Franklin Masonic Lodge 151, 
Khedive Shrine Temple, and Grice Commandery 16 of Knights Templar.

   He formerly was in the wholesale plumbing and heating business.

   Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Graf A. Boepple of Los 
Angeles and Mrs. David C. Rector of Rockville, Md.; a son, John James Pace Jr. 
of Union City, Tenn.; two sisters, Miss Lelia Pace and Mrs. J. Fenton Matthews 
of Franklin; and two brothers, Willie T. Pace Jr. of Franklin and Emmette H. 
Pace of Wheeling, W. Va.
