She was a daughter of Mrs. Antoinette Cotton McClenny [sic; step- mother*] of Virginia Beach. She was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and its Matomi Sunday School class. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Patricia W. Rogers, of Chesapeake, and Misses Kathleen Page and Shelia Page of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Curtis and Mrs. Mildred M. Salter of Virginia Beach; three brothers, L. Cotton McClenny, and Gordon McClenny of Virginia Beach and W. Conway McClenny of Norfolk, and a grandchild. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Road, by the Rev. Charles H. Jones. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. Her step-mother [Willie] Antoinette (COTTON) McCLENNY was her mother's niece. MB18:169) Her dress caught fire while she was lighting a stove with kerosene, 10 Apr 1931, and she died of her extensive burns the following day. She is buried with her parents & paternal grandparents in the COTTON (COTTEN) family cemetery, across from Sycamore Baptist Church.
