A graveside funeral service for William Thomas Pace Jr. was conducted Thursday at 3 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were A.G. Lanier, W.R. Atkinson Jr., J.R. Howerton, Dr. O.P. Delcambre, J. Edward Moyler Sr., H. Leigh Pace Jr., and Carlton C. Cutchins. Pace, 78, died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Mrs. Clyde Holland Pace and a son of Willie Thomas Pace Sr. and Mrs. Meta Parker Pace. He operated W.T. Pace Hardware Store many years. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Besides his widow, surviving are a son, William Thomas Pace III of Clarkston, Ga.; two sisters, Miss Lelia Pace and Mrs. J.F. Matthews of Franklin; a brother, Emmett H. Pace of Wheeling, W. Va.; and two grandchildren. William Thomas PACE, Jr., operator of W.T.
