Pittman of Courtland, died Tuesday evening at 6:30 after a brief illness of measles followed by pneumonia. She was an unusually bright and attractive baby, the joy of her parents and the home. In the absence of the Pastor, Rev. J.E. Brooks of Dinwiddie, a former pastor of the family assisted by Rev. Kenneth E. Burke, conducted the funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. The body bearers were: Leon Pittman, Casper Stortz, Cedric Pittman and Elmer Pittman. The hymns "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "Jewels" and "The Sweet Bye and Bye" were sung and the little mound was covered with flowers. Emma Thomas PITTMAN, daughter of William T. & M.
