Bobby P. Tyson. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Walter W. Cobb, Ben E. Babb, Claiborne Babb, John Rollison, Sam A. Shiller Jr. and E.E. Howe. Mrs. Pittman, 40, died early Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Brunswick County, she was a daughter of Mrs. Marquerite Abernathy Gillette and the late Bernard A. Gillette and the wife of William T. Pittman Jr. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church, Clara Parker Circle, and Woman's Society for Christian Service. She was also president of Nottaway Woman's Club. Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by four sons, Hugh Gillette Pittman, William T. Pittman III, Bernard Wilmer Pittman and John Francis Pittman of Courtland; and two sisters, Mrs. Ryland Brooks of Courtland and Mrs. John H. Brenner of Pulaski.
