She was the widow of Virginius Sebrell Pittman, a former treasurer of Southampton County. She was a member of the Capron United Methodist Church and the Capron Woman’s Club. Survivors include three sons, V.S. Pittman, Jr. of Franklin, Robert E. Pittman of Doraville, Ga. and John P. Pittman of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. J.F. Culpepper of Suffolk and Mrs. S.E. White of Newport News; one brother, E.L. Marks, Jr. of Courtland; seven grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Capron Cemetery by the Rev. Glen Langston. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin has charge of arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Capron United Methodist Church. The family will be at the home of her son 217 Hunterdale Road, Franklin. Gladys (MARKS; Mrs. Virginius S.)
