All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ VICTOR CLARENCE PITTMAN FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Victor Clarence Pittman, 77, who died Tuesday in Raiford Memorial Hospital, were conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. Gilliam C. Bentley, pastor of High Street Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, and active pallbearers were Raymond Cobb, Charlie Holland, Roger Tomlin, Aggie Joyner, W.T. Pittman and Cedric Pittman. Mr. Pittman was a native of Southampton County and a son of John and Mrs. Josephine Cosby Pittman and the husband of Mrs. Jeanette Pinner Pittman. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Besides his widow, he is survived by a son, Leon R. Pittman of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Herman Blythe and Mrs. Margaret Hutchinson of Franklin and Mrs. T.T. Fridell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, Walter Pittman of Courtland; and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Stortz of South Boston and Mrs. Virgie Cornwell of Wakefield.
