Holland Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church and the Rev. Gilliam Bentley, pastor of High Street Methodist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Mrs. Peters, 81, died Sunday afternoon in Salem after a long illness. She was the widow of Richmond H. Peters of Franklin and a daughter of John H. and Mrs. Lucy Wainwright Person of North Carolina. She was a member of High Street Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughter, Mrs. Ellen Bolton and Mrs. Jean P. Bolton of Fincastle and Mrs. Lucille P. Carpenter, Jr., of Erie, Pa.; two sons, Richmond H. Peters, Jr., of Franklin and R. Worth Peters of Boston, six sisters, Mrs. C.G. Cousin, Mrs. Mary P. Drewry and Pattie P. Morris of Richmond, Mrs. Herbert P. Buchanan of Norfolk and Miss Lula Person and Mrs. Estelle Dixon of Charlottesville; two brothers, John H. Person of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Randolph H. Person of Greensboro, N.C.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Aubrey Davis, John T. Morris, Ray Baird, Roy Edwards, J. Edward Gilliam, J. Letcher Eley, and W.A. Dortch.
