He was the husband of Mrs. Joyce Pixley Powell and the son of Samuel and Rosa Powell of Franklin. A member of the Franklin Baptist Church and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, he was an employee of Camp Manufacturing Company in the Laboratory department. Surviving him, besides his wife and parents, is one brother, Samuel Powell, Jr., of Franklin. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Holland Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be made in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
