Pulley Is Buried Near Ivor Thursday IVOR, Feb. 14 - John Levy [sic*] Pulley, 50, died at his home here Wednesday at 4:00 A.M. of a heart attack. Although in bad health for about two years, he was not confined to bed but a few hours and his death came unexpectedly. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday at 3:30 o'clock with the Rev. L.F. Callahan officiating. Burial was made in the family plot near Ivor. He is survived by his wife, Mary Holmes Pulley; three children, Mary Holmes, Cora and Jack; six brothers, Lloyd, Thomas, Douglas, Richard, of Ivor, Junius of Courtland and Frank P. Pulley, Jr., of Waverly; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Holladay, of Farmville. He may have been buried with his parents, Franklin Pierce & Cora (STEPHENSON) PULLEY in a family cemetery near Ivor - site not known (Oct 2022) to the SCHS Cemetery Project. Find a Grave Cemetery ID #2647647 gives "No location information available." His widow's D.Cert. 66-010059 gives buried Family Cemetery, Ivor, by Peninsula Funeral Home. That is unlikely to refer to the HOLMES family cemetery, "Elmsdale," near Ivor, where her paternal great-grandparents Peter James [I] & Mary Eleanor (WOODHOUSE) HOLMES are buried.
