ROSA LEE HOWELL POWELL

  A funeral service for Mrs. Rosa Howell Powell, 71*, of 209 Beale's Court, 
was held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Franklin by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins.

  A native of Como, N.C., she was the wife of Sam Powell and a daughter of the 
late Walter M. and Mrs. Ruth Scott Howell.

  Besides her husband she is survived by one son Sam Powell Jr. of Franklin; 
three sisters, Mrs. Wallace Simmons, Mrs. Jack Curle, Mrs. Bruce Sumner all of 
Como, N.C.; one brother Robert T. Howell of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
