Phelps of Franklin, died at her home in Second Avenue Monday afternoon after an illness of many years. Mrs. Phelps was a native of Windsor, N.C. and moved to Franklin 43 years ago. She was a member of High Street Methodist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by a number of cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon 5 o’clock at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. E.W. Aaron, pastor of High Street Methodist Church. The pallbearers were: Edward Gilliam, George Parker, Edgar Weede, Jesse Weede, Dennis Brett and Thomas Holland. Sallie Elizabeth (DUNSTON PRITCHARD; Mrs. Richard M.)
