SALLIE ELIZABETH PHELPS

   Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Phelps, 90, wife of R.M. Phelps of Franklin, died at 
her home in Second Avenue Monday afternoon after an illness of many years.

   Mrs. Phelps was a native of Windsor, N.C. and moved to Franklin 43 years 
ago.  She was a member of High Street Methodist Church.  Besides her husband 
she is survived by a number of cousins and a host of friends.

   Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon 5 o’clock at the grave in 
Poplar Spring Cemetery by Rev. E.W. Aaron, pastor of High Street Methodist 
Church.  The pallbearers were: Edward Gilliam, George Parker, Edgar Weede, 
Jesse Weede, Dennis Brett and Thomas Holland.
