Mrs. Pond was a native of Southampton County and a member of Barrett's Congregational Christian Church. She was the daughter of the late Williams Rollings and Adalina Morris, and was the wife of the late Lonnie J. Pond. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth P. Goodrich of Carrsville and Josephine P. Stephenson of Wakefield; four sons, L. Judson Pond of Waverly, R. Hudson Pond of Waverly, Harold "Jill" D. Pond of Wakefield and Homer "Jack" R. Pond of Sedley; 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A funeral service was held Sept. 26 at Purviance Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley with Dr. R.E.
