The deceased was a member of Barrett's Christian Church and of the Sedley camp, Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Morris Pond; three sisters, Mrs. F.M. Ellis of Wakefield, Mrs. Maude Ellsworth of Richmond, and Mrs. Alice Knowles of Petersburg; and three brothers, Joe Pond and Lonnie Pond of Sedley, and Roger Pond of Wakefield. Final rites were conducted at the graveside in the Pond family cemetery on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Revs. J.E. McCauley and C.E. Gerringer, with music by the Barrett's Christian Church choir.
