Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira H. Hudgins. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Hotchkiss, Edward Hotchkiss, Robert Sandlin, Ernest Evans, G. Hinson Parker, W.T. Pace, Maxie Day, and Franklin Whitfield. Mrs. Pond, 84, died Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.N. Guckert of Reedville, after a long illness. A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Charles Pond and a daughter of Robert W. and Mrs. Frances Coates Barrett. She was a former resident of Franklin. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Besides her daughter, surviving are three sons, Charles Pond of Kilmarnock, Robert B. Pond of Westminister, Md., and Dr. William L. Pond of Miami; two sisters, Mrs. Annie B. Darden and Mrs. Edna H. Barrett of Norfolk; and 10 grandchildren. Josie (BARRETT; Mrs. Charles E.)
