Pierce, 54, was killed in an automobile collision near Sylvania, Ga., Saturday. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Tuesday Holland Funeral Chapel, burial Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Pierce Dies In Wreck FRANKLIN - Mrs. W.B. Pierce of 509 Hill St., Franklin was reported killed in a head-on collision at Sylvania, Ga., near the South Carolina line Saturday morning. Mrs. J.H. King of 507 Hill St. in Franklin was critically injured in the wreck and underwent emergency surgery at at area hospital. Mrs. Pierce and Mrs. King were returning from taking Mrs. Pierce’s daughter, Mrs. Hazel Drewry, to Florida. No details on the accident were immediately available but it is understood no one else was killed in the accident. ****************************************************************************** Mrs. Pierce Rites Tuesday FRANKLIN - Funeral services or Mrs. Winnie Wynn Pierce, 54, of Franklin will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Elmore H. Nauman, pastor of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Courtland. A native of Robinsonville, N.C., Mrs. Pierce had lived in the Franklin area for the past 22 years. A daughter of the late John Wynn and Emma Scott Wynn, she was the wife of Wiley B. Pierce, a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church and an employee of Peebles Department Store. Besides her mother and husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. James Pritchett of Jamesville, N.C.; Mrs. C.M. Drewry of Homestead, Fla., Mrs. Walter Barron of Gunnison, Col., and Mrs. Fred W. Patterson of Chesapeake; three sons, Johnnie E. Lawrence of Courtland, Lewis Lawrence of Franklin and Willie A. Lawrence of Abilene, Tex.; one brother, Robert L. Wynn of Courtland; nine sisters, Mrs. Bessie Manning of Greenville, N.C., Mrs. Redding Reason of Washington. N.C., Mrs. Oscar Higgnut of Seaford, Del., Mrs. L. Waniski of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Robert Carter of Williamston, N.C., Mrs. Thomas Lane, Mrs. Robert Gilbert and Mrs. Daisy Harspit of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Mrs. Steve Stephenson of Tarboro, N.C.
