PERSON Funeral services for Edward J. Person, son of the late Junius R. Person and Mrs. Annie Francis Person of the Branchville vicinity, whose death occurred Thursday night at 8:30 o’clock at his residence, following a heart attack, were conducted Saturday afternoon at Person Methodist Church by his pastor, the Rev. E.B. Loving, at 2:30 o’clock. Mr. Person had been in ill health for several months, though his death came as a great shock to his beloved family and relatives. He was a lifetime resident in the vicinity and was connected with some of the most prominent families of Southampton County. Besides his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Murfee Person, he is survived by two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Gibson Sykes and Mrs. Frank Lifsey of Emporia, Randolph and George Person of Branchville vicinity, Edward Person, Jr. of Richmond, Billie Person of Curtis Bay, Md.; one sister, Mrs. B.D. Ellis of Drewryville; two brothers, Tom Billie Person of Littleton, and Walter Person of Whaleyville; three grandchildren, Lois Person of Branchville, Elizabeth and Mozetta Sykes of Emporia, and a number of nieces and nephews. During the service the church choir sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." The casket was covered with a pall of white and yellow chrysanthemums and fern. There were many beautiful floral tributes, which showed the esteem he was held. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Edward J.
