Presson, died last Friday morning after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Charles H. Stakes and Mrs. Mary Murden Stakes. Surviving her are her husband and mother; five sons, Waverly of Suffolk, Vernon, Willie and Lee of Franklin, and Melvin Presson, U.S.A.; a daughter, Mrs. Wesley Wilson of Franklin, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. M.E. Gray of Norfolk and Mrs. R.L. Gray of Franklin. Funeral services were held from the Holland Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Dr. W.T. Scott, assisted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful flowers, the casket being covered with a pall of white gladioli and roses. Pallbearers were: Murden, Charles and Clyde Gray, G.C. Hand, R.H. Price and C.L. Steyron. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Georgia Mae "Georgie" (STAKES; Mrs. John C.)
