Dan Ivey and the Rev. Earl Henley. Burial was in Person's United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene A. Edwards, Sam Drewry, Charles Rawls, Pete Ellis Jr., Louis Jordan, and Jerry Rice. Person, 62, died Wednesday in an Emporia hospital. He was a farmer. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Katherine Turner Person and a son of Edward J. and Mrs. Mary Murfee Person. He was a member of Person's United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Miss Lois K. Person of Drewryville and Mrs. Mabel Powell of Emporia; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Sykes and Mrs. Lillie Lifsey of Emporia; and three brothers, James E. Person and William W. Person of Richmond and George J. Person of Powhatan.
