PERSON Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Murphy* Person, whose death occurred Friday morning, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lifsey near Emporia, were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Person Methodist Church near Branchville, by the pastor Rev. W.S. Ferguson of Boykins. Mrs. Person was the widow of Edward J. Person of near Branchwille and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy of Greensville County. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gibson Sykes and Mrs. Frank Lifsey of near Emporia; four sons, Randolph Person of near Branchville, Edward Person of Richmond, George and Bill Person of Emporia; a sister Mrs. Sidney Jordan of Severn, N.C.; two brothers, George Murphy of Greensville County and Clyde Murphy of Emporia and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Person was a native of Greensville County, but had lived in Southampton County most of her life. Prior to her death she had been in declining health for several years, but was ever patient and cheerful, and in a quiet and unassuming manner drew unto herself many staunch and devoted friends. She will be really missed at home and in the community. The was a large attendance of relatives and friends and many beautiful floral tributes. Interment was made in the church cemetery. *Person Church Cemetery has her listed as Murfee. Mary "Lizzie" (MURFEE; Edward J.)
