Parker of this town, died suddenly last Friday afternoon at her home in Euphradian Park. She was the daughter of the late W.T. and Mrs. Mollie Howell of Somerton, Va., and had made her home in Franklin for many years. She was a faithful member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of its Woman’s Missionary Society, a consistent Christian character of many fine traits, a good neighbor who numbered a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her husband; by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas H. Canady and Miss Mildred Parker of Franklin; two sons, Gilbert Parker of Petersburg and Thomas L. Parker, Jr. of Chicago; two grandchildren, Thomas H. Canady, Jr. of this town and Thomas L. Parker, 3rd of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. E.J. Langston and a brother, V.T. Howell, both of Whaleyville. Funeral services were held from the Franklin Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock in the presence of a large assemblage of friends by her pastor, Rev. R.D. Stephenson, with Rev. B.B. Bland of the Methodist Church and Dr. Elwood W. Jones of the Congregational Christian Church assisting. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies and white roses. Burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery, the pallbearers being: E.A. Darby, Jesse A. Weede, George H. Parker, J.J. Finley, Claude J. Edwards, W.H. Jones, Lloyd A. Whitley and J.P. King.
