All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PARKER FRANKLIN - Benjamin Franklin Parker, 82, died Thursday afternoon in Raiford Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Mrs. Lucy Mae Minton Parker and a son of Henry Washington and Mrs. Sarah Harrell Parker. Mr. Parker was a native of Bertie County, N.C. and had lived in the Franklin community 30 years. He was a member of Lewiston (N.C.) Baptist Church. Surviving are six sons, Charlie Parker of Churchland, Clifton Parker of Sedley, Ralph Parker of Carrsville, and Fred Parker, Wade Parker and Jack Parker of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Julia Pence of Franklin, Mrs. Otha Pittman of Whitaker, N.C., and Mrs. Sadie Kizer of Holland; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the W.J.M. Holland and Sons chapel by Rev. C.L. Gatling of Black Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
