Parker, 70, formerly of Franklin, died Monday at 6 p.m. in the Emergency Hospital in Washington after a short illness. He was a son of the late Charles and Susan Daughtrey Parker, of Gates County, N.C. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nathaniel Burnley, of Charlottesville, and three brothers, Clifton Parker, of Ridgeland, S.C., Luther Parker, of Latta, S.C. and Joe L. Parker, of Frederick, Md. He was the of uncle of Mrs. T.H. Canady of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by Dr. Julian H. Pentecost, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Rites Held Yesterday For Harvey O. Parker Funeral services for Harvey O. Parker, a former resident of Suffolk, who died Monday at his home in Washington, D.C., were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the I.O. Hill and Company Funeral Home. Dr. Julian H. Pentecost, pastor of the West End Baptist Church, conducted the services. Burial took place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The pall was designed of white carnations. Pallbearers were Theodore Myrick, John Vincent, P.M. Burton, Herbert Cobb, Clarence Cobb and Arthur Herrick.
