HARVEY O. PARKER

   Harvey O. Parker, 70, formerly of Franklin, died Monday at 6 p.m. in the 
Emergency Hospital in Washington after a short illness.

   He was a son of the late Charles and Susan Daughtrey Parker, of Gates 
County, N.C.  He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nathaniel Burnley, of 
Charlottesville, and three brothers, Clifton Parker, of Ridgeland, S.C., 
Luther Parker, of Latta, S.C. and Joe L. Parker, of Frederick, Md.  He was 
the of uncle of Mrs. T.H. Canady of Franklin.

   Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Hill Funeral 
Home, Suffolk, by Dr. Julian H. Pentecost, pastor of the First Baptist 
Church.  Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
