Mr. Parker was a native of Gates County, N.C. He was a mechanic at Art’s Firestone. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Franklin Lodge 1573. He was a Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Mary Everette Parker; a daughter, Janice Paige Parker of Franklin; two sons, Kenneth Ronald Parker of De Land, Fla. and Kerry Lee Parker of Suffolk; his mother, Odessa Parker Herbert of Miami; three sisters, Virginia P. Smith of Miami, Beverly P. Rettinger of Longwood, Fla., and Linda Faye Briley of Alexandria, La.; two brothers, Richard L. Parker and James R. Parker, both of California; and nine grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Sunday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. William Hawkins. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park.
