PARKER Funeral services for Thomas L. Parker, 80*, a former policeman of Boykins and a retired farmer, were conducted last Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Purviance Funeral Home in Boykins, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery. The Rev. H.F. Ferguson of the Methodist Church there officiated. Mr. Parker was found dead in the yard of his home at Branchville last Friday night around 8 o’clock. A .38 caliber revolver was nearby. He had been in ill health for some time. He leaves a daughter, Miss Grace Parker of Branchville; a brother, Reddick Parker of Petersburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Parker Cook of Richmond and Blandie Cornelia Parker Ricks of Southampton County. There is a line running through the print at the top and middle of many of the papers and it effected many of the obits. I've put elipses for the part that's missing. If it's obvious what's said, I've tried to fill it in.
