Priddy, wife of the late Edward D. Priddy, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M.A. Thomas, near Courtland, Friday, January 25, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Priddy was a native of Southampton County, although her early life was spent in Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Mills A. and Fannie Britt. Mrs. Priddy became a member of the Boykins Baptist Church in her early life and remained a loyal member until her death. In 1889 she became the wife of Edward D. Priddy and to this union were born three children, all of whom have preceded her to the grave with the exception of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas. She leaves a brother, Walter H. Britt, of Boykins; two half brothers, George Knight, of Boykins, and Charles Knight, of Pennsylvania; one sister, Mrs. J.E. Barnhill, of Rocky Mount, N.C., and two half-sisters, Mrs. J.S. Lawrence, of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Mrs. J.L. Leavitt, of Portsmouth. The funeral services were held from the home of her daughter and at the grave Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. F.B. Handley, pastor of Boykins Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Kenneth E. Burke, of Courtland. Interment was made in the family plot in Beechwood cemetery, Boykins. The body bearers were W.T. Cobb, M.R. Bryant, N.S. Beaton, A.M. Williams, J.D. Rogers and C.W. Davis. Addie A. (BRITT; Mrs. Edward Davis) PRIDDY, b.
