She was born at Duffield, Va., March 18, 1899, and was the daughter of the late William C. Jenkins and Mrs. Ella Hammond Jenkins [sic*]. Spending the early years of her life in Bessemer, Ala., with relatives, she united with the Baptist Church where she remained a member until her affiliation with the First Baptist Church of Appalachia, Va. She was a faithful and consistent member of this church until her death as far as her health would permit. At Catawba Sanatorium just a few years ago she met Edward Meredith Priddy, of Boykins, Va., to whom she was married January 27, 1925. Soon after the marriage they went to Scotch Plains, N.J., where Mr. Priddy was X-ray and laboratory technician of Bonnie Burns Sanatorium. They lived here until December, 1925, when on account of a relapse of Mr. Priddy's health, they came to the home of Mr. Priddy's only sister, Mrs. M.A. Thomas, of the Courtland community, remaining until his death about seven months ago. In the spring she visited her sister in Kentucky before going to Colorado Springs in an effort to regain her health but the loving care of family and friends and every effort of human skill failed to restore her to strength again. Her body was brought to the home of Mrs. M.A. Thomas and funeral services were held in the Boykins Baptist Church June 24, Rev. Frank B. Handley officiating. Interment was made in Beechwood Cemetery amid many floral tributes. Special selections were sung by Mrs. R.C. Knight, Mrs. A.M. Williams, Mrs. C.T. Beaton and Mrs. L.L. Story. The flower bearers were Misses Owen and Winston Cobb, Juanita Gray, Frances Powell, Frances White, Jessie Mae Britt, Sarah Vick, Deaton Frances. The body bearers were John M. Britt, Floyd Hines, J.R. Person, Franklin Powell, H.G. Coleman and A.M. Williams. She is survived by her mother, four sisters and four brothers. Those of her immediate family who were present at the burial were her mother, Mrs. Ella H. Kilbourne of Appalachia, Va., Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Stidham, R.C. and E.O. Jenkins of Shelbiana, Ky., and two friends, Miss Myrtie Snead of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Ralph Rowe of Shelbiana, Ky. Willie Rose (JENKINS; Mrs. Edward M.)
