Pruden was conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by Dr. R.E. Brittle of Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. Pallbearers were W.N. Whitehead, Geno Whitehead, Joe Gray Jr., Lewis Reese, Lewis Babb and Paul T. Wellons. Pruden, 82, a retired Sebrell merchant, died Sunday morning in a hospital. A native of Nansemond County, he was the husband of the late Clara Harris Pruden and a son of Mills E. and Mrs. Annie Monell Pruden. He was a member of Sebrell Methodist Church, Sebrell Ruritan Club and Woodmen of the World. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Selma Vaughan and Mrs. Marjorie Jackson of Richmond, and Mrs. Avril Joyner of Emporia; a son, James E. Pruden of Norfolk; a brother, Talmadge Pruden of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. Odelia Archer of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren.
